AICE Media Studies Reason to take the class: One of the main reasons why I ended up taking this class is mostly because of some of the recommendations I got for this specific class. Throughout my Junior Year I have had people come up to me and have me or my class in one of their films for this "AICE Media" class. And honestly at the time I didn't know what they were talking about, however, through some discussions I finally figured out that it was more like a hands on type of class rather then just sitting there and reading a textbook. Now hopefully I will get out of this class what some of my fellow classmates will, is the ability to work well on pieces of film making but also working well as a team.
3 Film Editing Techniques
This video would be an example of Parallelism and or Simultaneity. However, I would say that this would be closer to Parallelism mostly due to how each person and each car are moving back and forth showing how each character is reacting to the situation. In this scene specifically from the movie Austin Powers, the back car starts to shoot at the car with Powers in it. This shows the repeating of going back and forth between each car and each person. At the end of the scene you can see how the reactions of the shooting goes back and forth and soon enough the back car with the villain proves to be outmatched and the scene shoots forward to how the car flies off of the cliff. This is another scene from Squid Game on Netflix portraying the master edit of Simultaneity.
